On the Generalized Novikov First Ext Group modulo a Prime

چکیده
Γ(m + 1) = BP∗(BP )/ (t1, . . . , tm) ∼= BP∗[tm+1, tm+2, . . . ]. In particular Γ(1) = BP∗(BP ) by definition. To get the structure of ExtΓ(m+1)(BP∗, BP∗), we will use the chromatic method introduced in [3]. Denote an ideal (p, v1, · · · vn−1) of BP∗ by In, and a comodule v−1 n+sBP∗/(p, v1, · · · , vn−1, v∞ n , · · · , v∞ n+s−1). by M s n. Then we can consider the chromatic spectral sequence converging to ExtΓ(m+1) (BP∗, BP∗/In)

On Novikov’s Ext’ modulo an Invariant Prime Ideal
IN HIS WORK on complex cobordism [ 181 Novikov introduced a spectral sequence converging to the stable homotopy of a space, depending only on the complex cobordism of the space as a module over the ring of primary complex cobordism operations. This spectral sequence can be localized at a prime p and one can work, as Novikov did, with the smaller theory, BP*( ), known as Brown-Peterson cohomolog...
متن کاملTHE FIRST ADAMS-NOVIKOV DIFFERENTIAL FOR THE SPECTRUM T (m)
There are p-local spectra T (m) with BP∗(T (m)) = BP∗[t1, . . . , tm]. In this paper we determine the first nontrivial differential in the Adams– Novikov spectral sequence for each of them for p odd. For m = 0 (the sphere spectrum) this is the Toda differential, whose source has filtration 2 and whose target is the first nontrivial element in filtration 2p + 1. The same goes for m = 1, and for ...
متن کاملROOTS OF UNITY AND THE ADAMS-NOVIKOV SPECTRAL SEQUENCE FOR FORMAL yl-MODULES
The cohomology of a Hopf algebroid related to the Adams-Novikov spectral sequence for formal ,4-modules is studied in the special case in which A is the ring of integers in the field obtained by adjoining pth roots of unity to Qp , the p-adic numbers. Information about these cohomology groups is used to give new proofs of results about the E2 term of the Adams spectral sequence based on 2-local...
متن کاملThe First Line of the Bockstein Spectral Sequence on a Monochromatic Spectrum at an Odd Prime
The chromatic spectral sequence is introduced in [8] to compute the E2-term of the Adams-Novikov spectral sequence for computing the stable homotopy groups of spheres. The E1-term E s,t 1 (k) of the spectral sequence is an Ext group of BP∗BP -comodules. There are a sequence of Ext groups E 1 (n − s) for non-negative integers n with E s,t 1 (0) = E s,t 1 , and Bockstein spectral sequences comput...

Furthermore, we obtain the lengths of the periods of the generalized order-3 ...
